Jason Foster is an LLM graduate of Northwestern University and a JD graduate of the University of Wisconsin.
Jason Foster's Bio:
Jason Foster grew up in the Milwaukee suburbs but has lived in Chicago for more than a decade and now considers it home. His formal education included concentrations in tax policy, international and comparative law and taxation, and political philosophy. Jason's friends and colleagues know him for his jovial disposition and passion in his commitments.
Jason loves actively participating in his community. At the University of Wisconsin Law School, he was elected Vice President of the Law School’s student government and President of QLaw, the Law School’s LGBT association. Jason also sat on the Latino Law Student Association's Treasury Committee and represented LLSA as a delegate to the Law School's diversity committee. He mentored Pre-Law Society undergraduates as a member of Phi Alpha Delta International Law Fraternity, sat on the Law School Orientation Committee, and served as a Student Ambassador for the Law School’s Office of Admissions. To inject some levity into law student life, Jason happily performed in Stuart's Law Revue, a satirical comedy show about all things legal.
At Northwestern University School of Law, Jason continued his committment to serving his community. He volunteered with Ladder Up (a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program) to provide tax return prepration services to low income individuals, while educating them about tax law. He also served as an essay advisor for OneGoal, which aims to increase the percentage of Chicago Public School students who graduate from college. To help ensure a positive experience for future generations of the Northwestern Law community, Jason represented the Tax Cohort on Northwestern Law's Graduating Class Gift Committee.
Before law school, Jason worked as a paralegal, legal secretary, and academic advisor. Before college, Jason studied acting and vocal performance, both in conservatory settings. He also studied jazz and modern dance, and performed with many dance companies, color guards, and drum and bugle corps from around the country.
Jason plays the flute and loves attending concerts and live music shows, as well as theater and dance performances. He is an avid NPR listener and enjoys learning about coffee, tea, beer, wine, and cheese. He also tries—with varying success, given his schedule—to watch at least one independently-produced documentary per week.
